Last week I went on a much needed break from reality. I was starting to feel restless and my motivation was at an all time low. It was time for a VACAY. Thank god that it was possible for me to make the trip and spend time with family, friends, and my love. It is so important to stay motivated and happy, whenever I feel like my vibe is off I like to change the scenery for a bit and regroup. Spending time away from the stress of life for me means not checking emails, bank accounts, deadlines, or thinking about what lies ahead- just what’s right in front of me. I enjoyed new places I had never been to on the island before, lot’s of food, and too much to drink. Here are some highlights of my week on the aina. ALOHA!
Day One: Arvo Cafe
Contemporary, modern, and hip
Simple but flavorful avo toast
Activated Charcoal Latte to go
Day Two: Poke & Beer
Foodland poke is to die for.
Day Three: Kahala Beach
Day Four: Lanikai Beach and The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club
I drank a lot of Maui Brewing Co. Bikini Blonde….
My favorite beach on the island.
Dinner at Mahina & Suns I had Monchong Fish with ‘ulu, green beans, cherry tomatoes, and chervil….drool.
Day Five: Aiea Loop Trail
This trail was so peaceful. The couple hours spent on the trail did wonders for my mind and my spirit.
Day Six: Brunch at The Nook Neighborhood Bistro at Puck’s Alley
Jidori Mochiko Chicken With Mochi Waffles. YAAAAAAAAAS!
After Brunch we headed out to the west side of the island to Makaha Beach. It was my first time here and I felt like I was on another island completely. This beach took my breath away and watching the sun disappear into the sea is a moment I will remember forever.
I came back with a sunburn, 5 extra pounds, and priceless memories. Grateful beyond belief.
